Tiger Families,
This summer has flown by, and it is hard to believe that the 2026-27 school year is almost here. We are so excited to welcome our Tigers back to school on Wednesday, August 12! You can find information on school registration, the school calendar, school supply lists, bus transportation, school meals, and more at our SISD Back to School webpage. Also, make sure to check out our SISD Calendar of Events so that you’ll know what’s happening around SISD in the coming weeks and throughout the school year. Below you will find helpful information and reminders as we prepare for the upcoming school year.
Registration for New and Returning Students
If you have a student who is returning to SISD, please make sure to complete the returning student registration in the Parent Portal. If you have a student who is new to SISD and you have not already completed their registration, please do so as soon as possible so that we can make sure your student’s teacher assignment/schedule is ready for the first day. You can find this information on our new student registration page.
School Start and End Times
Please make sure to check your student’s campus schedule for start/end times and to ensure they are on time for school. It is so important our Tigers be in attendance and on time so that they have every opportunity to learn and grow throughout the year! This school year, we will be implementing a new communication tool to help support school attendance, so be on the lookout for more information as school starts.
Child Nutrition
Our 2026-27 school meal prices are available on our Child Nutrition Website. Applications for free/reduced meal prices are open now, and we encourage families who may be eligible to apply now for the new year. You can access an application at your student’s school, online, or complete the digital application for free and reduced meals.
Transportation Services
If your student will be riding the bus, first make sure that your student is fully registered for school and your address on file is correct. You can find information about SISD transportation, including bus routes, on the SISD Transportation Page. As a reminder, traffic around town during pick-up and drop-off times will be a bit heavier during the first few weeks of school, so we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Student Communication Devices
As a reminder, all Texas public schools must prohibit the use of personal communication devices, including cell phones, during the school day. You can find more information about how SISD implements this requirement on our Student Communication Devices Page.
Safety and Security
Safety is always a top priority for us Smithville ISD. Armed security personnel will continue to be present at all of our campuses during school hours, and all safety procedures and drills will be in place throughout the year. Please visit our Safety and Security webpage to learn more safety in SISD and about how we will communicate with families in the event of an emergency.
Volunteering in SISD
We believe that volunteers enrich the quality of education for our students by providing opportunities for parents and community members to become actively involved in our schools. To learn more about opportunities for volunteering in SISD and the application process, please visit our Volunteering at SISD webpage.
In Smithville ISD we are committed to providing each and every one of our students with engaging learning experiences, so that they may discover their passions and have limitless opportunities for their future. Our teachers and staff are working hard to prepare for a fantastic school year, and we can’t wait to see our Tigers return soon!
