A Strong Start - The Tiger Way!
Tiger Families,
The first few weeks of school have provided many reasons to be proud of our students. They have returned to campus with positive attitudes, responded well to our expectations, and demonstrated a strong commitment to making this a successful school year.
Our hallways are clearing quickly, students are arriving to class on time, and learning is taking place throughout the building. Whether they are in the classroom, on the field, on the court, in the band hall, on the stage, or representing Smithville High School in the community, our students have shown what it means to be a Tiger.
We recognize that beginning a new school year requires adjustments. Students must establish new routines, meet new teachers, manage new responsibilities, and rise to new expectations. Our Tigers have handled those challenges exceptionally well, and we appreciate the support and encouragement our families have provided at home.

These expectations are more than words displayed around our campus. They are habits that build responsibility, strengthen character, and prepare students for success beyond high school.
During these first few weeks, our students have made tremendous progress in being on time. As we move into September, we will continue reinforcing that expectation while placing an increased emphasis on being prepared. Being prepared means arriving with the necessary materials, completing assignments, knowing what is expected, and being mentally ready to learn.
Preparation is one of the most important steps toward success. When students combine preparation with maximum effort, there is no limit to what they can accomplish.
Building on Our Momentum
A strong beginning is important, but it is what we do consistently that will define our year. As assignments become more challenging and schedules become busier, we must continue holding ourselves to the same high standard.
We do not expect our students to be perfect. We do expect them to take responsibility, learn from mistakes, ask for help when needed, and continue giving their best effort. Growth happens when students are willing to work through challenges rather than give up when something becomes difficult.
Parents and families, thank you for continuing to support The Tiger Way at home. Please help your student maintain strong attendance, arrive at school on time, monitor assignments and grades, and prepare each day for success. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference.
We are proud of how our Tigers have started this school year, but we also know that we are only beginning. Let us continue building on this positive momentum and working together to make September another outstanding month at Smithville High School.

A.M. Student drop off is at the front entrance of the school and student parking lot. All student must enter at the front entance after 7:55.
