A message from Dr. Ealy...
Following a wonderful Spring Break, the last nine weeks of school is definitely in full swing! This is the time of year that always seems to go by most quickly. A multitude of student activities are happening each day, state assessments will begin soon, and we are simultaneously working to prepare for a successful start to the upcoming school year.
Our students have demonstrated so much success this year, and the accolades for our students keep pouring in as our students compete in academics, athletics, fine arts and CTE. In addition to the recent Board recognitions later in this newsletter, a few recent highlights include:
|
-
Senior Emery Bayer placed 1st at the State powerlifting competition, and went on to claim the National Championship last weekend!
- Our SHS One Act Play took 1st place with their performance of "Imaginary Invalid" at District, advanced to Bi-District and will now compete at Area on Tuesday, April 7 at 2pm at the Bastrop PAC.
-
SHS students Rosalyn Martinez and Lily Gardella qualified to competed in the state competition for CX Debate
- Tiger golf continues to have a great season! The girls team placed 2nd at District and will advance to Regionals. Carter Nutt finished 4th overall and will also advance to Regionals.

Throughout this year, one of the areas that we have focused on is improving communication with our Tiger families. We know that receiving streamlined and clear communication is incredibly helpful, and our staff have been working hard to consolidate communication with families and students into the SISD App. If you have not already created an account, we ask that you do so to ensure that you receive important messages from your students' teachers and coaches. You can find more information on this, as well as how to access grades and attendance information through Parent Portal, at the bottom of this newsletter.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership to support the growth and success of our students. I hope that you all enjoy the upcoming 3-day holiday weekend with family and friends.
Warmly,
|
Dr. Molley Ealy
Superintendent of Schools
